What Did I Learn?:
- How tough making a game in 8 hours is.
Description: Our goal was to design and develop a game from start to finish in just 8 hours. Our theme was “dinosaur angst”. Our game ended up as this: You play a dinosaur and you start off as just a baby. As giant dinosaurs cross your path, you have to jump out of the way to avoid being eaten. However once a dinosaur smaller than you turned up, you had to eat him in order to grow. As you grew more and more, you were capable of eating larger dinosaurs. You won the level when you become the largest dinosaur. The art style was a person drawing the level on a piece of paper with crayons.
In the end, we did not have enough of a game to present. We learned that if the game jam only last 8 hours, you have to prepare for it! Regardless, we had a great day out. I have learned from this experience. I took a risk and failed. I will now prepare more for events like these!
